Hopefully the worst of the winter is behind us and we can start looking forward to varying our wardrobes from knitwear, knitwear, knitwear, accessorised with Uggs.

Midseason is always a tricky time for fashion, especially in the UK where the weather often dupes you into wearing the wrong outfit.  Many a time, have I set off to work wrapped up like an Inuit, only to spend the day feeling clammy and flustered because actually it’s not that cold.  Or, on the flipside been over optimistic about the great British climate and ended up freezing!

Where as we can now look to the Macintosh, cardie and even the odd beautifully printed scarf to get us through spring, what do we wear on our feet???  Uggs are indeed Ugg-ly, but oh how the comfort makes up for their aesthetics.  Cue, the sheepskin lined pump from Pretty Ballerinas.  Cosy, cute and perfect with jeans or a dress.  They are even reduced from £119 to £75 at Jigsaw online!

Today sees the launch of Google’s new online fashion site www.boutiques.com

The site works in a similar way to the Google search engine and will pull clothes from sites across the web.  The site also allows users to create their own boutique and save items, brands and looks they love within it.

Setting up your boutique is a short process whereby you first select looks you like, followed by silhoettes and colour pallets.  This then generates ‘Your look’ (this is not always accurate, but you have the option to change it), followed by clothes suggestions which you can either love or hate.

It looks like Boutiques.com are not only trying to create a specialist online retail space, but also give gravitas to it by backing it up with respected style icons and commentators. Personalised shops have already been set up by celebrities and top fashion bloggers including TTT favorite Susie Bubble of http://stylebubble.typepad.com/

On Wednesday 24th November, Space NK, the luxury beauty chain is putting on another after hours pamper evening in conjunction with woman&home magazine.

This indulgent evening will include mini-facials, massages, one-on-one skincare consultations and make-up application sessions.  You can also enjoy a 15% discount, whilst nibbling on mince pies and sipping Champagne, as well as going home with one of Space NK’s lovely gift bags, full of free samples!

Tickets are £10 and can be bought in-store spacenk.co.uk/storelocator.do, or by calling 020 8740 2085. Previously tickets have sold out quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment.

A preview of Tom Ford’s anticipated SS11 womenswear collection has finally been unveiled.  TTT thinks it was absolutely worth the wait as the whole line is wonderfully opulent and glamorous, with oversized sequin animal prints, luxurious fringed evening dresses and the sharp tailoring for which Mr Ford (as he prefers to be addressed) is known so well for.

Ensure you get Vogue Paris’ January issue, for a closer look!

I particularly love the backless dress (2nd from the right)  The type of frock dreams are made of.

London’s 3rd Fashion in Film Festival kicks of in Dec, running from the 1st-12th.

From the exquisitely opulent films of the silent era, to the sybaritic, lavishly stylised underground films of the 1940s -1970s, costume has, for a long time, played a significant role in cinema as a vital medium for showcasing such basic properties of film as movement, change, light and colour. The festival programme explores episodes in film history which most distinctly foreground costume, adornment and styling as vehicles of sensuous pleasure and enchantment.

Several films will be shown, falling under the theme  ‘Birds of Paradise’, which the website promises is ‘A major extravaganza in costume spectacle, dance and diabolical glamour’.  I’m not exactly sure what that means, but i’m compelled enough to buy tickets.

The Fashion In Film Festival will be running over various venues, with tickets available online from:

This weekend TTT checked out the new retrospective Mick Rock exhibition at one of our favourite arts haunts, The Idea Generation Galley.

Rock is renowned for being ‘The Man Who Shot the 70s’, but the images included stretch over the last four decades, capturing some of the most iconic performers of our time including: Brandon Flowers, David Bowie, Lady Gaga and Kate Moss.

Coinciding with the publication of Mick’s new book, ‘Exposed: Faces of Rock n’ Roll’, the exhibition also features some of the most distinctive rock images of all time, including rare photographs from classic sessions with the likes of Syd Barrett, Iggy Pop and Bryan Ferry.

Check it out.  It’s brilliant and free.

I think these are the coolest lashes I’ve ever seen!  I will certainly be investing in some for the festive period, or just for general showing off.

These unique designs are available in two sizes: Use the mini sets to accentuate the corners of your eyes or go for the full lashes for a really dramatic look.

Paperself lashes are £13 a set and are available from www.harveynichols.com
